Selective Fines Free
Starting Monday, April 4, 2022, the Library will begin collecting late fees on certain items.
What will be fined:
- New & trending items
- New media
- Video games
- Hotspots & Rokus
- Museum passes
The items that are subject to late fees are ones that would inconvenience fellow patrons if they’re late. Older books & older media remain fine–free! Regardless of fines, items will still be billed if not returned.
Paying Fines
Fines can be paid at the circulation desk by cash or check ONLY. If you do not have cash or checks on you, you can pay fines online. Please be aware that you can only pay fines using a Discover, Visa or MasterCard credit card or a bank card with the MasterCard or Visa logo. You may not pay using an American Express credit card at this time. There is a minimum payment amount of $5.
- Open the My Account page located on the top right of the Encore webpage (the Library’s catalog).
- Enter your 14 digit Franklin Square library card barcode number (without spaces) and your PIN (see our Managing Account page for more information). Click Login.
- Your name will now be visible on the top right corner of the screen. Click on your name to open your account. Click on the Fines/Fees tab.
- Your balance will appear. Click Pay Online and type in your billing and credit card information. When done, click Submit.
- Please remember to log out of your account when you are finished using the Log Out button.
