What is Zinio?

Zinio is an online magazine subscription service subscribed to by the Franklin Square Public Library.  Zinio allows patrons to view magazines purchased by the Library on their computer or portable device free of charge with no expiration date.  Each magazine is displayed in its entirety complete with original page layout, images, and advertisements.

Instructions (updated 12/14):

Zinio Apps: Zinio magazines may be read on a wide range of apps available for numerous mobile devices including the iPhone, iPad, Andriod, and Kindle Fire (click to download the app). Zinio may also be used on a PC or Mac (no app necessary).

New User Sign-In:

  1. Click the icon on the right side of the screen to access the Zinio log in page.
  2. Click on the “Create New Account” link on the upper right hand side of the screen.
  3. Enter your 14 digit Franklin Square Public Library card number (no spaces) and select “Next.”
  4. Fill out the required fields and click “Create Account.”

Return User Sign-In:

  1. Click the icon on the right side of the screen to access the Zinio log in page.
  2. Click on the “Log in” link on the upper right hand side of the screen.
  3. Enter your e-mail address and password and select “Log In.”

To Select and Download a Magazine:

  1. Log in (see return user sign-in).
  2. Select a magazine you wish to download by clicking on its cover.
  3. Select “Checkout” then “Start Reading” when prompted (check the option “Email me when the next issue is available” if you which to be notified each time a new issue of that particular magazine is available).
  4. Log in to Zinio:  If this is your first time using Zinio, create a free Zinio account by clicking on the “Create a Zinio Account” link.  Enter your name, e-mail address and password (this account is in addition to the account you created when you signed in as a new user –to avoid confusion, it is recommended that you use the same e-mail address and password for each) then click “Register.” If this is not your first time using Zinio, type in your e-mail address and password then click “Continue.”
  5. To read a magazine, click on the magazine’s cover.
  6. To return to the Library’s Zinio collection, click on the “Magazine Detail Page” tab on your browser and click on the “Zinio Magazine Collection” link located beneath the Library’s name.

To Read a Magazine That Was Downloaded During Your Last Session:

  1. Log in (see return user sign-in).
  2. Click on the “Start Reading” link located on the right side of the screen.
  3. To read the magazine, click on the magazine’s cover.

To Delete a Magazine:

  1. Log in (see return user sign-in).
  2. Click on the “Start Reading” link located on the right side of the screen.
  3. Select “Edit Your Reading List” and click the “X” on the covers of the magazines you wish to delete.  Click “Done” when finished.
