America the Beautiful is an interactive database for state-by-state history and current events for elementary and middle school students.  This database also includes timelines, profiles, games, and almanacs.

Ancient and Medieval History Online
With a coverage spanning from prehistory to the 1500s, this database provides thorough coverage of nine civilizations (ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Islamic Empire) through the use of timelines, primary resources, biographies, and images.

Career Cruising
Career Cruising is an interactive reference guide which provides in-depth profiles of hundreds of different careers. Discovering Collection offers easy access to award-winning content based on national curriculum standards and covers core curriculum areas, including history, literature, science, social studies. Gale Virtual Reference Library
Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources covering a wide range of topics including the arts, business, education, history, law, literature, medicine, religion, science, and social science.

Aimed at junior high and high school students, this encyclopedia includes articles, images, sounds, and movies about numerous subjects. Also included are quizzes and games, time lines, and research ideas.

History Reference Center
This full-text history reference database is perfect for high school students studying world and U.S. history. History Reference Center provides access to nearly 57,000 historical documents; more than 79,000 biographies of historical figures; more than 37,000 historical photos and maps; and more than 80 hours of historical videos.

Infotrac Junior Edition: K-12
This periodical database is designed for students in junior high and middle school and provides access to a variety of indexed and full-text magazines, newspapers, and reference books for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more.

Kids Search
This database meets the research needs of students in K-8th grade containing articles on current events, the arts, science, health, people, government, and sports.  This database also includes an encyclopedia and dictionary.

NoveList
NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 135,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interests to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We're Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. For school media specialists and teachers there are Picture Book Extenders and articles on Teaching with Fiction.

U.S. History Collection

World Book
The World Book is a premier online reference source containing every article from the 22-volume print set plus primary documents and images from many major subject areas.  A wide selection of games, activities, and crafts (available in Word Book for Kids) provide highly entertaining and educational learning experiences for children. Also included in this database is Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos —a Spanish language encyclopedia for elementary and middle school students.
